Hi, I'm Wojciech
I didn't just learn German for a school exam and stop there - I lived it every day. For 7 years I lived and worked in German-speaking Switzerland: first in Fribourg (2014-2019), then in Bern (2020-2021).
Education
Before moving to Switzerland, I earned my master's degree in philosophy in Poland, with distinction, with a thesis on the cosmology of Augustine of Hippo. At the University of Fribourg (Universität Freiburg / Université de Fribourg) in Switzerland I completed postgraduate studies in ethics, and I defended my thesis in German on conscience in Augustine of Hippo (grade 5.5/6). I then began and completed doctoral studies there, working on the interpretation of the concept of law throughout human history - I have not yet defended my doctoral dissertation. That means the German I teach has been through rigorous academic scrutiny - not just conversations at the shop.
Over 3,000 hours of teaching
From 2020 to 2021, I worked as an educator and support teacher at the Swiss school rossfeld.ch in Bern. I've been teaching German at levels A1-C1 for years - over 3,000 hours of lessons, both individual and group. I've seen what actually works, and what's a waste of time in a language course.
How do I teach?
I put the biggest emphasis on speaking - from the very first lesson. After every class you get notes and a vocabulary list, so nothing slips through the cracks between sessions. I also prepare a personalized, interactive page for self-review after each lesson - I build this tool myself, because I believe learning a language shouldn't stop when the lesson ends.
I'm learning too, so I understand what it's like
I'm currently learning French myself, with a focus on speaking fluency - exactly what I teach others. I know firsthand what the road from uncertainty to confident conversation looks like, and how important it is for a teacher to understand what you're going through.
Outside of lessons
Privately, my biggest passion is aviation - from theory to practice. It has nothing to do with German, but it says a lot about the fact that I like things that require precision, patience, and regular practice. I approach teaching a language exactly the same way.
